NEW this year, this class is designed for kids who are 14 years and older and have taken Level 1 and 2 kayaking. These boaters have worked on the fundamentals of kayaking and are ready to put their skills to the test! Kids will also be able to try some more advanced kayaking skills such as jet ferries, surfing and combat rolling, in addition to perfecting their fundamentals.
This program differs from our other programs and is an afternoon paddle three times a week. We will be running the Animas River working on combat rolling, eddy hopping, reading rivers, and surfing.
We want our Grom's to be life long padders and this class will provide a fun and safe environment to learn the techniques of how to river run, surf, and strengthen their skills.
- Prerequisites: Young Adult Level 2 or equivalent
- Duration: Monday/Wednesday/Friday
- Age: 14 and up
- Included: Gear, transportation, and instructors
- Time: 4 pm - 6 pm

Cancellation Policy
The Southwest can have very sudden and unpredictable changes in weather. All classes run rain or shine, unless there are weather related safety concerns. All programs may be changed at our discretion. To keep our classes affordable, we must fill a program with a minimum amount of participants. We reserve the right to cancel the program if the minimum amount of participants is not met. A full refund will be provided if a class is cancelled, and you will be notified no later than 48 hours before the beginning of the class.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your reservation, please do so 48 hours or more before the beginning of the class. Cancellations within 48 hours of the beginning of the program are non- refundable. If you wish to reschedule within 48 hours before the beginning of the program, we can provide a 50% credit towards the rescheduled class.
