Kenny Mutton
An old-school freestyle paddler turned racer and creek boater, Kenny still loves his daily routine of early morning race laps down the Kaituna river. A hard-working kiwi not afraid to get his hands dirty, Kenny is continually striving to improve the performance of whitewater boats. Based in Okere Falls, New Zealand, Kenny attributes much of his design success to being able to test out ideas paddling the familiar Kaituna lines.
An integral part of the evolution of whitewater boats for the last 25 years, 2011 saw Kenny team up with another Okere Falls local, Sam Sutton to found Waka Kayaks. Sam paddled Waka’s first boat design the Tuna to victory at Adidas Sickline World Champs and Waka Kayaks hit the ground running. Since then Kenny’s designs have continued their momentum and it is always exciting to paddle new additions to our whitewater range.
Waka’s roots remain firmly planted around the Kaituna river testing ground and the Okere Falls community, where you are always welcome to come for a morning lap.
